This cancer, Primitive Neuro-Ectodermal Tumor (PNET), is a type of cancer usually found in the brain, but the biggest differentiation with Kim’s tumor is that it was found near her right ovary.
Her exact diagnosis has less than 100 documented cases. Her doctors have found several other abnormalities that make it an off-branch of PNET, making this case incredibly vague and incomparable to any other PNET cases.
There were also some serious post-op complications that caused Kim to be readmitted to the hospital for a week and a half, delaying the start of her chemo treatment.
